Our Head of School

Hello, my name is Shen Bennett, and I serve as the Head of School at Chesapeake Montessori School, with a career grounded in education and nonprofit leadership. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to secure grants, revitalize school policies, enhance faculty benefits, lead successful fundraising efforts, and organize meaningful educational symposiums. I’ve also served as CFO on several nonprofit boards and hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Emmanuel College.

After discovering the Montessori method, I became deeply passionate about its philosophy and made it my mission to immerse myself in its principles. I’m currently expanding my expertise through Montessori training in both Infant/Toddler and Children’s House programs.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, traveling, and gardening. I am committed to continuing the legacy of Dr. Maria Montessori, following the child and supporting their journey as they grow into individuals who can truly change the world.
