This week at Independence Day Camp, the children have been busy!!! We have been learning about our nation’s symbols of freedom, singing patriotic songs, crafting items for a picnic and just having FUN!!!! In Children’s House, Ms. Alexis told the story of the Star Spangled Banner and the children are learning the song. In Elementary news, Ms. Aliceyn has the children busy with crowns, t-shirts, torches and many other projects.
One thing we thought was important to do this week was to have all of our campers involved in raising our flag each day. After Old Glory was up high in the sky, the campers held their hands over their hearts and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. This has been a special moment each morning!
Next week is Art camp and we have the pleasure of inviting back Ms. Kate’s daughter, Elizabeth, who is an art major at VCU and is quite the Artist herself!! Our resident Artist/Art teacher, Ms. Donna, will be with the Elementary students and has an incredible camp planned. It should be a fun week for all!
We still have a few spots open if you’d like to join us!
